The Power of Front Door: March 2014

March 2014Tip of the month: Add attractive hardware (door knocker, mail slot, knob, doorbell) to your front door to get a finished look!

For older houses, you might simply need to polish what is already there. To buy hardware, check out your local hardware store or Rejuvenation.

If you invest in quality hardware, make sure you also have a solid, quality door.

If I can help with your front door, let me know! jennifer.macomber@gmail.com / 202-905-5369.

Decorating Dilemma: How can I make the entry to my home more inviting?

CIMG1388Entryways set the mood for how you and others respond to your home – every time you walk in. Some tips for a great entry…

Clear the clutter: Clutter is the number one enemy of a nice entry space. Watch what collects in your entry and get creative and realistic about places to store it.

Storage: Place a dresser or storage piece near the door to set your keys, mail, phone and for extra storage of newspapers, umbrellas, hats and gloves.

Light Fixture: Invest in a beautiful light fixture—it’s one of the first things you see when you come in.

Accessories: Fresh flowers, a pretty lamp, and mirrors/art can make a huge difference. And don’t forget a nice rug!

I’d love to help with your entryway! Contact me today: jennifer.macomber@gmail.com / 202-905-5369

How’s the Market? Washington DC February 2014

032The DC housing market continued a pattern of slower than usual activity in February, likely due to the weather.

Closed and pending sales increased this February relative to last, but only by single digits, rather than the double digit increases seen last year.

New listings declined this February relative to last and inventory remains very tight, contributing to price growth and quicker sales.

Full recap.

If you or anyone you know is looking to buy or sell, I’d love to help! 202-905-5369/ jennifer.macomber@gmail.com.
